There are times when I lose track of big chunks of time. Part of it is just that time goes faster as I get older. Part of it, I think, may be due to my attention deficit issues. One day, I've got plenty of time until a deadline. A heartbeat later, it seems, the deadline is upon me.

This explains why work has been a bit nutso for me of late. The project I had plenty of time on is now upon me. I did actually plan out time to work on it steadily over the past few weeks, but that time got eaten up by various and sundry unexpected issues. My project plans typically allow for this, but a) my stakeholders were late getting crap to me and b) I had an unusual amount of unscheduled crap to deal with. I've also got into a rut of making stupid mistakes thanks to getting frazzled. This, of course, can lead to more frazzle if I'm not careful. Throw some sleep dep and (mild) fibro flareups into the mix, and life becomes unfun. Yesterday, I also worked a 10 hour day with no break. Today, it was 9 hours, also no break. Throw in some stress-eaten junk food, and I wound up feeling kinda not so great. After eating clean for several weeks, the body does not take kindly to having nothing but corn chips left over from the St. Pat's potluck for lunch (oh, god, my stomach...)

I used to be able to knock out a week of 10-11 hour days with no ill effect, but I can't do that any more. This afternoon, I feel mentally and physically drained. The fact that my gym schedule got knocked out of kilter didn't help.

Anyhow, it's the weekend, and it's supposed to be rainy. That means I can be a lazy bum all day tomorrow if I need to. I may have to spend a few hours playing work catchup on Sunday, but that's a maybe, not a definitely. If I have the energy and the inclination, I'll get a jump on Monday so I can take the day easy.

I have some catching up to do on a couple of fics (SPN big bang, WW, Summer Fields) and I hope to read more of The Long Ships (good swashbuckling Viking fun).
