Narnia Big Bang

I participated in the Narnia Big Bang, only not as a writer. I ended up doing fanart for a wonderfully dark AU set during the time that the Pevensies were Kings and Queens of Narnia. Here's the summary:

Following Edmund's assassination, the Pevensies fall apart. In desperation, Susan gets Aslan to bring him back. More trouble ensues.

The first picture is my least favorite of the two, primarily because I didn't get Susan's face quite the way I wanted it. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to redraw the whole damn thing, and there wasn't much I could do to fix it because nothing says 'forever' like india ink on bristol board.



I'm much fonder of this second picture, mostly because drawing the sea serpent was a lot of fun. She's an important character in the story, serving as the Royal Spymaster at Edmund's behest. The detail of the broken horn was something that just felt right, somehow. I also enjoyed drawing Susan's hair and outfit, and am very pleased with how they turned out.
